Asana appoints Jo Gaines as GM APAC

NYSE-listed Asana, Inc., the system of action where humans and AI run work together, has promoted Jo Gaines (pictured) to the role of GM APAC at Asana.

Jo Gaines brings her experience from her Head of Channel APJ role, where she led the company’s growth of its partner business, including onboarding new strategic partners, designing and evolving the channel partner program and leading learning and development for partners. She partners closely with Asana’s senior leadership team on long-term planning, business growth in the APJ region and partner initiatives. Prior to joining Asana in 2023, Gaines held senior leadership roles at Salesforce and Krux Digital where she gained deep experience in helping customers adopt and optimize their data and AI investments. Gaines is also the Co-Founder of Breaking Glass, an organization for senior executive women wanting to be part of an inclusive and supportive community of like-minded individuals.

“From the moment I started working with Jo, it was clear she was the right leader for this region and this moment. She has spent over two decades building technology businesses across the Asia Pacific, from scaling data and audience markets at Salesforce to joining Asana and building our enterprise go-to-market in APAC. She knows this region deeply, she knows our customers, and she knows how to build. To our customers, partners, and teams across the region: you are in exceptional hands,” said Kevin Knieriem, CRO at Asana.

“I am excited to step into the GM role and continue to invest in and support our wonderful customer and partner network across the region,” said Gaines. “Workforce transformation, AI adoption and lifting team productivity are top of mind for businesses across the region, and Asana is well-placed to help leaders accelerate positive change with the tools they want. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working closely with our team across the region.”
